The Tyberg Project Album

SDC is excited to announce the international release of our third album on the acclaimed Pentatone label. Marking our second Pentatone release, also collaborating again with frequent Grammy-winning engineers Blanton Alspaugh and John Newton of Soundmirror, this album features the magnificent Lied Organ at First Plymouth Church, Schoenstein's "magnum opus", considered to be one of the largest and most versatile symphonic organs in the country.

Marcel Tyberg was killed in Auschwitz in 1944, and these two Mass settings represent his only surviving sacred compositions. SDC is proud to present both of them for the first time since Tyberg himself played them for his friends on the last night he was seen. Simple in melodic structure, with bold harmonic development and rich sonorities, Tyberg's Masses spring to life on this groundbreaking recording.
